Did you know there are approximately 7.4 BILLION people in the world? BILLION...and that is just this year. Imagine all the people of all time - that is a lot of people. And to think that no two are exactly alike. This boggles my mind.
Each of us is unique - a one of a kind masterpiece. Some of us may look the same (think twins - or strong family genetics) but we have not had the same experiences or thoughts...therefore, we are different from each other.
I create custom works of art (window treatments and pillows, etc.) in my interiors company. Even when making multiple panels with perfectly matched seams and pattern repeats in the same place and lengths the same, the panels are not the same. See, each stitch is not in the exact same place...and often we don't see the stitches (at least you shouldn't in most cases with custom!). So, we might assume that there is nothing different.
Why does this matter? Because we need to embrace our uniqueness and how we were meant to interact with the world. What special gifts do you have? How do you think - how can you help others with your way of doing things? While it is sometimes necessary to conform, you were not created to be a cookie cutter representation of another person. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Workmanship in this verse means handiwork or masterpiece. You are God's masterpiece. Let that sink in. One of a kind - work of art. Now - enjoy and celebrate who you were created to be.
