Frequently Asked Questions

What does a coach do?

A coach is your supporter and a cheerleader. A coach comes alongside you and helps you move forward. A coach asks questions to help you drill down to what is really driving you, what motivates you, and helps you determine what you want out of life. A coach takes the journey with you.

What is a Business Coach?

A Business Coach helps you identify problems and challenges, as well as solutions for multiple aspects of your business. The coach focuses on helping you gain clarity so that you can make the best decisions possible. Individual business owners can greatly benefit from collaborating with a coach who will challenge their thoughts and sharpen their ideas.

Explain what it means to follow a Christian coaching model.

Christian coaching is the art and practice of enabling you to move from where you are to where God wants you to be. A Christian coach believes that humans are created in the image of God, that God has a plan for your life, and that you will be most at peace and satisfied when your desires line up with His.

While coaching is a neutral activity, meaning the coach does not impose his/her value system on you, the personal beliefs of the coach will impact the coaching model, just like your value system will impact your choices.

Who is a good candidate for coaching?

A good candidate for coaching is someone who is interested in moving forward and has the desire to take their lives and business to the “next level”. A good candidate would also be someone who is open to new ideas. Great coaching clients are focused on doing hard things to improve their lives even when that work is difficult. Those who are habitual complainers are not good candidates for any coaching relationship.

How is coaching different from consulting?

Coaching is focused on working with an individual to help them grow forward. Consulting usually involves working with many people in a company to reach a specific company goal or to shed light on the company policies and practices.

How long does a coaching relationship last?

As with any relationship, coaching takes time. Change is a process and often not done quickly. Many coaching relationships begin with a few months of working together and can last as long as a year or more. The length of the coaching experience is determined by the goals that are set and the achievement of these goals.

What makes your coaching practice different from others?

Our philosophy is that each person is created to be unique - and therefore, your business is as well. While there are great business principles, there are no rules of how it has to be done. Michele works with each business owner to help them find out who they are and to build a business around their God-given strengths, talents and abilities. Who says work has to be so hard? Michele and her team strive to help each business recognize and use their strengths, get help in their weaknesses and to build a business they love, not one they have to do.

In addition, Michele is one of the ONLY coaches who helps business owners fully understand their financials, the impact of profit on a company, how to make the salary they want/need, and how to make payroll and other expenses while still having an interior design or creative business that thrives and is sustainable for the long haul.
